After installing Ubuntu 9.10 we can find that broadcom 43xx wireless chips can not be detected. To enable broadcom 43xx, we have to install broadcom driver from Ubuntu 9.10 CD.
1. Ensure that your wireless chip type is broadcom 43xx. To determine chipset, type at command line “lspci”
2. Insert Ubuntu 9.10 CD to CD ROM drive.
3. Type these command below
sudo apt-cdrom add
sudo apt-get install dkms patch fakeroot bcmwl-kernel-source
4. Restart computer. Ubuntu will automatically detect broadcom BCM43xx wireless chip. We can check BCM43xx driver in “Hardware Drives” (System > Administration > Hardware Drivers)
